Tarragona<\/strong> and Museu del Port<\/strong> are the starting point for a large international exhibition that, besides, is bound to become one of the most successful ones wherever it goes. If you feel curious about the story of Titanic<\/a><\/strong>, if you felt in love with the film featuring Kate Winslet<\/strong> and Leonardo Di Caprio<\/strong> or you just simply want to admire the largest Titanic<\/strong> mock-up in the world, you can do so by visiting the exhibition \u201cTitanic, the reconstruction<\/strong>\u201d until 22 May.<\/p>\n

What is so special about it then? For a kick off, the sheer dimensions of the model (on a 1:30 scale; that is, 9 metres long and 600kg of weight!) and, of course, the incredible accuracy with which this 3D legendary boat has been reproduced, keeping almost every detail as it was, no matter how small: from the famous staircase or the piano, to the engine room (which also shows how it worked), the luxury dinning rooms, the deck and all the accommodation spaces.<\/p>\n

And there\u2019s more. This Titanic<\/strong> scale model, built in Granada<\/strong> in \u201cjust\u201d three years, looks as if it\u2019s actually alive and could set sail at any moment. The game of sound, music and lights do also add to making this showing an almost real experience.<\/p>\n

The exhibition \u2013which starts with a short documentary\u2013 doesn\u2019t end here though. It also gathers over 40 objects, most of them replicas, but with a few original ones. Visitors, for example, can admire scores and music instruments that were in the original boat as it sank, various tools, handwritten documents\u2026 Among the most valuable objects, there\u2019s a child blouse and a ring once property of Millvina Dean<\/strong>, the last living survivor of the Titanic<\/strong>. A bronze information plaque and a spectacular Brush car, from 1909, which was waiting in New York<\/strong> for the boat to arrive, are the icing on the cake of this very exciting exhibition.<\/p>\n

After Tarragona<\/strong>, it will fly to Vigo<\/strong>, Bilbao<\/strong> and Barcelona<\/strong>; next, towards Bordeaux<\/strong>, South America<\/strong> and the United States<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
