Minipop is not just another pop music festival; it is much more than that. Minipop is music, of course, but also art, dance, workshops, theatre, cinema, handcrafted-products fair, gastronomy and party, quite a lot of it. Passeig de les Palmeres will welcome this festival –one of the essential cultural events in Tarragona and the whole country for the entire family– for the 5th consecutive time between the 5th and 7th of June.

For what music is concerned, this 5th edition’s programme will present a selection of top-notch artists: David CarabénMishima’s group leader–, the singer-songwriter Núria Graham or Anna Roig, who will show her skills as a deejay, are some of the main attractions on this year’s edition.

Lluís Gavaldà, Els Pets singer and actual music director of the festival, says that “Minipop does not restricts people by their age, and schedule shouldn’t be an issue”. Thus, all the concerts and activities will take place before “watershed”.

Minipop will transform an idyllic environment as Passeig de les Palmeres, by Balcó del Mediterrani, and with some pretty stunning views of the sea and the Roman Amphitheatre, into a convenient enclosure ideal for all audiences. Among the set-up infrastructures, users can find a especially dedicated area for pushchairs and a sort-of resting are for those willing to take it more easy.

This year’s workshops, meant to complement the festival, will approach art to attendees. Overall, there will be twelve proposals designed for kids between the age of 3 and 10 that will teach them, for example, how to make cute little notebooks thanks to Laura Masdéu, or the way to enjoy urban eco-friendly agriculture, thanks to Gemma Ciuret, among many other activities.

The 2015 Minipop does also include an Oriental cinema showing together with a high-quality Japanese food dinner, and also a children’s theatre show by the Farrés Brothers.

The final section of Rambla Nova will be adorned for the 3rd Minicrafts Fair, an exhibition of precious handcrafted creations.
